If you live in Whitefield and have been wondering whether art classes are right for your child, you are not alone. Every week, parents reach out asking the same questions — what age can my child start, what will they actually learn, and will they enjoy it? This post answers all of that honestly, from inside the studio.
At Siri Art Classes, we welcome children from age 5 to 16. Younger children (5–8 years) start with basic shapes, free drawing, and simple colouring exercises that build hand-eye coordination and confidence. Older children (9–16) move into more structured subjects like pencil shading, portrait sketching, and acrylic painting on canvas.
"Children who start young develop a visual sense and patience that benefits them in school — in geometry, science diagrams, and even creative writing."
Our classes cover four core areas of fine art — each one building on the last, giving children a complete foundation in drawing and painting.
The foundation of all art. Children learn observation, light & shadow, and precise pencil control.
Bright, forgiving, and perfect for children. Students paint on canvas and learn colour mixing & composition.
A delicate medium that teaches patience and flow. Wonderful for children with a calm, expressive nature.
Older students learn to draw faces, capture expressions, and build realistic portraits from reference.
Classes are held three days a week — giving children enough time to practice between sessions while keeping them consistently engaged.

The 90-minute duration gives enough time for students to settle in, work meaningfully, and finish each session with something they're proud of. We are easily accessible from ITPL, Marathahalli, Kadugodi, and surrounding areas of Whitefield.
We keep our classes intentionally small. When a class has 20 students, the teacher spends most of their time managing the room rather than teaching. In a small group, every child gets individual attention — their technique corrected, their strengths encouraged, their questions answered.
"Art is not something you learn from watching a demonstration. It is learned through doing, trying, failing, and trying again — with a teacher close enough to guide each step."
Beyond the artwork they bring home, the benefits parents notice most after 8–12 weeks are:
The easiest way is to send a WhatsApp message to +91 63668 58175. Just say your child's age and which days work for you. We will confirm the next available slot and you can come for a trial class — no commitment needed.
You can also browse student artwork here to get a feel for what children create in the first few months.
Send a WhatsApp message or fill in the contact form — we'll get back to you the same day.
